Cheese Chile Strata


1 ½ dozen eggs

1 cup milk                                                        

4 ounces green diced chilies

3 cups cottage cheese

¼ teaspoon baking powder

1 pound Monterey jack cheese, grated


  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs until well blended
  • Add all the other ingredients, except the chilies.  Blend until smooth
  • Stir in the chilies
  • Spray a 9 X 13 inch glass pan with oil spray
  • Pour egg mixture into pan.  Place in refrigerator overnight
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until top is slightly browned and knife inserted in center, comes out clean
  • Cut into squares.  Makes 12 large servings.
